General Description: Braemar Dance Center, part of the Frankfort Square Park District, offers dance classes for students ages 3 to adult. The Dance Instructor is responsible for the teaching of assigned and agreed upon dance classes. The Dance Instructor will obtain class rosters for assigned classes and take attendance each class meeting. The qualified Dance Instructor will teach across multiple disciples and skill levels; helps develop, demonstrate and teach class participants at weekly classes. The Dance Instructor will also be responsible for choreographing a routine for their assigned classes to Show Case at the end of the year.
Hours and schedule: The Dance Instructor will work on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with flexibility in their schedule to help sub if needed. Additional hours may be available. Job shadowing would begin in November with the winter spring session beginning in early January.
Requirements: Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience leading and teaching dance classes. Preference will be given to candidates that hold an associate’s degree or higher. Potential candidates must have experience in Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre or Tap. Please specify what styles of dance you are qualified to teach on your application.
