The Building Supervisor position has been created to provide a visible, accessible and responsive presence at the centers operated through the Recreation Department. The position requires an incumbent to be continually aware of individuals entering, leaving and participating in the various programs, activities and events taking place in the assigned center; and situations that develop as a result of the programs and/or building operation. The Building Supervisor is responsible to take appropriate action concerning matters involving individual’s safety and well-being, program setup/clean up, and custodial needs of the building. The incumbent works with limited or no direct supervision and reports to the Building Custodian. Ideal candidates must have:
• Ability to work independently and solve problems as they arise. • Ability to effectively communicate and work effectively with the staff and the public. • Certified in CPR/AED and First Aid or able to obtain within 90 days of hire. • A valid IL Class “D” driver’s license.
Normal shift hours are Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM-10:00 PM and weekends 8:00 AM-3:00 PM & 3:00 PM-10:00 PM. Shifts are subject to change due to facility usage. Shifts are divided between the pool of Building Supervisors.
