We have an exciting FULL-TIME job opportunity for a Facilities Specialist II who will focus on facility and playground maintenance including playground inspections. Candidates should have some experience and/or background in playground inspections as well as have general facilities experience. While having a CPSI certificate is preferred, we welcome candidates who can obtain their CPSI certificate within the first 12 months of being hired (sponsored by the district).

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As Facilities Specialist II, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing playgrounds and facilities. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operate and maintain district equipment

Inspect, maintain, and repair play area components

Maintain play area supply inventory and perform District audits on new playgrounds

Assist with opening and shut down of pools, and the Hub sprayground, mini golf and batting cages

Perform maintenance, painting, carpentry and general repairs to District Buildings and Pools

Build, maintain and inspect park and site amenities

Maintain park, playground and facility cleanliness as assigned

Provide snow and ice removal from parking lots, sidewalks and pathways

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

High school or trade school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or landscape contracting.

Valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Currently a Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) or ability to obtain within the first 12-months from hire date.

Knowledge of playground maintenance practices and understanding of building trades.

Ability to operate a variety of power tools and heavy equipment

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and technical instructions

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety requirements of structures and components

WHEN YOU’LL WORK:

Workweek is Monday – Friday from 6:30am - 3:00pm
