Assistant Superintendent of Recreation

Palatine Park District is looking for a dynamic and talented professional to assist the Superintendent in guiding the Recreation department into a new era. Palatine Park District has a lot of exciting changes on the horizon, and we are looking for the right person to assist with leading the department through the changes. 
 
Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Recreation, the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation is responsible for assisting with the administration of Park District recreation programs, events, and services, including, but not limited to, cooperative partnerships, contracted services, special interest groups and recreation personnel. 

Recreation programming oversight may include aquatics, athletics, early childhood, preschools, cultural arts, gymnastics, special interest, CARE, special events, and fitness programs.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in parks and recreation or comparable experience and well versed in all aspects of recreational programming.
  • Minimum three (3) years leadership/management experience.
  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) preferred.
  • BA/BS in Parks and Recreation, business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position is $81,500-100,500, dependent on qualifications and experience.
