The Village of Deerfield, Illinois (Pop. 19,197) seeks applicants for the full-time position of IT Systems Technician in an expanding IT team.  The hiring range for this position is $77,945 – $91,700 depending on qualifications and experience (Complete 2024 Salary Range: $77,945 – $100,871, adjusted annually).  

Under the direction of the Director of IT, and working with the Senior IT Systems Specialist and IT Systems Specialist, the IT Systems Technician will be primarily responsible for providing and documenting level one and two technical support to 150+ users including Administration, Finance, Community Development, Police, and Public Works & Engineering.  The individual will regularly assist in the maintenance and operation of Village information technology systems, with focus on end-user equipment.  The IT Systems Technician will also be involved with special projects as assigned.   

A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field with 2+ years of experience is preferred.  Applicants with formal IT training and 2+ years of experience will also be considered. Ideal candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff, a mind for problem solving, and a readiness to learn.
