Superintendent of Facility Maintenance

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent of Facility Maintenance to join our team.  This role is perfect for someone with extensive pool maintenance expertise and moderate knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and general trades. The Superintendent of Facility Maintenance is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing facility maintenance.  Supervise full-time and seasonal staff, responsible for maintenance, repairs, and improvements to Park District properties.  This position is responsible for the maintenance of Barefoot Bay Aquatic Park, Indoor Pool, Spray Park, two recreation centers, and five other buildings.

Qualifications – Education, Experience and Training
A bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field is preferred.  A high school diploma or GED is required.  A minimum of five years supervisory experience in building management and personnel management.  Certified Pool Operator licensing required.   Must have at least three years’ work experience in the following areas: HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical, Plumbing, Pool Maintenance and Carpentry or related trades.  Must possess moderate computer skills, including operation of work-related programs, data entry, and operation of the Microsoft 365 platform.  CPR, First Aid and AED Certification required within 90 days of employment.  A valid State of Illinois driver’s license is required.  A Class A or B CDL is preferred.  

Pay, Benefits and Work Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position.  The hiring wage range is $75,121 - $93,902, depending on qualifications.   The full wage range is $75,121 - $112,682.   The work schedule is typically Monday – Friday between 7:00am – 3:30pm, evening and weekend hours will be required based on business needs.  Our full-time benefit package includes:
