Fleet Maintenance 2
Join our Parks Department as a crucial member of the Maintenance Fleet team! In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our Park District's diverse fleet of all Park District-owned vehicles and landscaping equipment. Your expertise will be key in performing preventative maintenance and maintaining the high standards our community expects. This is a full-time, fully benefited, non-exempt position with opportunities for overtime as needed. Your Day-To-Day Will Involve:

1. Perform preventative maintenance tasks under the direction of the Fleet Manager.
2. Perform inspections of equipment and vehicles and assist with recommendations for improvements.
3. Operate vehicles, implements, and equipment.
4. Repair and rebuild fleet vehicles and equipment for park operations as required.
5. Maintain reel and rotary mowers to industry standards.
6. Clean and maintain the shop, equipment, and tools.
7. Document repair and preventative maintenance records for all fleet equipment.
8. Follow all Federal, State, District, and departmental safety and risk management policies, procedures, ordinances and regulations.
9. Report all accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
10. Additional job duties as assigned, which may be considered essential.

Minimum Requirements
- Graduate from vocational school supplemented by an approved apprenticeship or training in mechanical repair
- A.S.E. certification preferred or acquired within two (2) years of employment
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of demonstrated success as a mechanic or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
- Must provide own tools

The hourly rate for this position is $27.26/hour to $38.16/hour, dependent on qualifications. This position is Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
