Full-Time Buildings and Grounds Maintenance
Position Summary
This role is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure safe, attractive, and well-maintained parks and buildings. Duties include operating various equipment, performing manual labor, completing general maintenance tasks, and providing limited supervision to seasonal staff. The position also participates in on-call rotations and may require some evening or weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate and maintain a variety of equipment and vehicles
· Perform grounds, sports fields, turf, landscape, forestry, horticulture, playground and facility maintenance
· Complete building and equipment repairs, demonstrating strong mechanical ability
· Assist with project work, special events, and seasonal tasks
· Provide guidance to seasonal staff as needed
· Respond to on-call maintenance needs
Schedule
Generally Monday–Friday, with evenings and weekends as needed.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Valid Illinois driver’s license
· Minimum 3 years of experience in park maintenance, landscaping, turf, forestry, horticulture, or related fields, or education equivalent
· Strong mechanical aptitude for performing repairs
· Ability to perform physical labor in various outdoor conditions
· Willingness to obtain required certifications:
o Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) within 2 years
o Operator’s Pesticide License within 1 year
