JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics General Manager, the Aquatics Operations Manager is responsible for year-round management of the Vaughan Athletic Center Aquatic Complex and seasonal operations of Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center and Splash Country Waterpark. This includes supervision and training of lifeguards, slide attendants, Head Guards, FT Aquatics Operations Supervisor, and PT IMRF Lifeguard Specialist. This position is responsible for the marketing, budgeting, purchasing, memberships, and facility scheduling of the indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. The Aquatics Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring quality customer service while providing a clean and safe environment. This individual is responsible for providing financial reports and performing evaluations and assessments as related to memberships, fees, community needs, and any correspondence needed. The Aquatics Operations Manager is responsible for all IDPH code compliance as well as PDRMA risk management review requirements. This is an at-will position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field with a minimum of three years of aquatic management experience or equivalent experience and/or training. AFO or CPO certification preferred. The ideal candidate will hold or be able to obtain a certification as an Ellis & Associates Instructor. Knowledgeable in IDPH and PDRMA regulations related to aquatic operations. Excellent customer service skills, along with strong and effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong math skills with previous budgeting experience required. Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite with aptitude to learn other applications. Experience in RecTrac Recreation and Munis software is a plus. Must have strong organization skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have a valid IL driver’s license and provide own transportation.
