In this role, you’ll lead facility maintenance projects across multiple locations, support three direct-report managers and supervisors, and work with teams throughout the Park District to deliver a great experience for visitors and staff.
What you’ll do
- Visit facilities regularly and identify maintenance needs.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate staff while supporting their professional growth.
- Coordinate facility use, review operating procedures, and respond to public concerns.
- Partner with Park Services on facility projects, vendor/contractor coordination, and priorities.
- Develop goals and budgets, monitor expenses, and recommend improvements.
- Promote a strong culture of safety and risk management.
What you’ll bring
- A bachelor’s degree in recreation and park administration, leisure services, or a related field.
- At least four years of management or supervisory experience in a recreation agency and three years of experience managing facilities across multiple locations.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, budgeting, and project management skills.
- CPR/AED certification.
- Valid driver’s license with vehicle insurance.
- Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification, preferred.
- Illinois Food Management Certification, preferred.
